On Sunday 6 May 2012 the US Navy 7th Fleet Band visited our shores and spoiled Gold Coast residents and visitors with a special performance in Cavill Mall, Surfers Paradise.
The professional Jazz ensemble has wowed thousands all over the world, include the likes of the talented James Morrison, and received a similar reaction from their Gold Coast audience.
The band has a reputation for it’s exhilarating performances and delivered nothing short of that. There lives a long and proud tradition of music in the naval service and today’s US Navy 7th Fleet Band carries on that tradition with a modern, fast-paced beat.
Created in 1943, the band has performed to literally millions throughout the Western Pacific. They have brought their special brand of American music to enthusiastic fans in Japan, Republic of Philippines, Republic of Korea, Thailand, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and now the Gold Coast, Australia can be added to the impressive list of country performances.
