This year’s Easter weekend was again a mixture of fun, sun and free kids activities at Surfers Paradise on the 7th and 8th of April 2012. The Surfers Paradise foreshore sprung into life with an exciting selection of events for the whole family to enjoy, combining art, music, shows, games and plenty of chocolate!
The live stage shows were a big hit for young and old! With Pirates, Alice in Wonderland and other musical style acts entertaining the kids at various times throughout the days, they also turned out a great hit with the older crowd as ‘advanced’ jokes got a good laugh out of the parents.
The Easter bunny visited the Easter Carnival as well, handing out chocolate goodies, but he wasn’t the only animal in attendance at the Easter Carnival. Brilliant local wildlife and adventure park Dreamworld staged a series of fascinating animal displays, giving kids a chance to meet cuddly koalas, rare bilbees, exotic lizards, shy tree frogs and even a friendly baby crocodile.
In the Arts and Crafts tent children of all ages got a chance to create colourful Easter eggs, baskets and pictures and remainder of the foreshore was decked out with other free kids activities such as face painting, mini golf, arcade games and a giant trampoline.
On Easter Sunday night a specially erected cinema screen showed the Easter kids movie ‘Hop’ on Surfers Paradise Beach when the movie was over, a stunning fireworks display brought the weekend to a perfect close.
