For those who love good food and wine, A la Carte in the Park was yet again an indulgence of the senses. With unexpectedly brilliant weather after a week of rain, thousands of visitors took to the idyllic Lionel Perry Park on July 14th to experience the Gold Coast’s biggest foodie bash.
Set on the banks of the Nerang River, Lionel Perry Park was transformed into a swirl of tantalising tastes, decadent drops and live music from the pick of local jazz and folk talent. Starring the city’s finest restaurateurs and with food from almost every imaginable cuisine on offer, A La Carte in the Park brought top-shelf dining to the everyday connoisseur in a relaxed ‘picnic blanket’ atmosphere. The various live cooking demonstrations from local Surfers Paradise chefs were particularly popular, with people eagerly lining up to taste a sample of the fine cuisine dished up by restaurants such as Deja View, Bazaar and Hard Rock Cafe.
What a great day and a fantastic closing weekend of the 2012 Surfers Paradise Festival!
