The Australian Street Entertainment Championships (ASEC) returned to the Surfers Paradise precinct in 2012, bringing laughter, cheer and amazement to Gold Coast residents and visitors in the second weekend of the Surfers Paradise Festival.
Bringing together some of the world’s best street artists, including jugglers, acrobats, magicians, puppeteers and musicians, as they battle it out for the National Champions Title, the crowds had plenty of action to watch. Knowing their audience might wander off at any moment, the competitors put it all on the line to dazzle, intrigue and amaze the crowds, hoping to get their votes and spare coins in the hat.
Based around three stages on the Foreshore and a fourth stage at The High Street, the three-day event delivered a taste of unsung talent, creative innovation and fearlessly energetic performances.
