Brisbanites could not wait for this weekend – the first Color Run in their city! 14,000 people strong they flocked to Springfield, 30 minutes west of Brisbane CBD, to get their colour on.
The newly developed Robelle Domain provided a great venue, despite some narrow areas on the course, and the event was yet again a ginormous party.
The start line was set on the entrance road into the Robelle Domain with the 5km course tracking along nearby roads before a finish in the Robelle Domain grounds. As per usual the course was set with 4 dry powder zones, a water station and a bubble zone with participants collecting a colour packet at the finish line before heading over to the Finish Festival to do some famous ‘color throws’.
A unique American concept by origin, The Color Run (TCR) is focused on fun instead of performance. It’s all about music, colour and madness as runners make their way through the 5km run, being bombarded with a different colour powder every kilometre to finish into an even bigger colour mania called the Finish Festival. Here, the runners get a chance to drench themselves, and everyone else, in even more colour by throwing their own colour packets around, all the while dancing and singing along to the latest tunes being played on the main stage by a DJ.
