In its 7th year of running, 2013 turned out to be the most successful year yet for the Herald Hill to Harbour fun run in Newcastle.
Over 3,000 people participated combined over the 4 races of the day; the 21km Half Marathon, 10km Fun Run, 5km Fun Run and the 2km Kids Run.
The 10km race proves to be the most popular one year after year with the vast majority of over 2,000 participants making the though trek up and down one of the largest hills in the Newcastle region. On the up side, the course is set along the beautiful Newcastle foreshore and beaches which makes for stunning scenery throughout the race, perhaps slightly lightening the pain of the journey.
Blessed with beautiful, sunny weather the event was a great success and the fine conditions created a fantastic festival atmosphere at the finish area, which was packed with competitors and their loved ones enjoying the sun and cheering on runners as they crossed the finish line.
