The last event of the Sanitarium Weetbix Kids TRYathlon 2013 series took yet again place in Townsville. With its tropical settings, Thuringowa Central, located on the beautiful Ross River, is one of the most picturesque venues the tour has seen this year.
The tropical lagoon is where the swim started for the 700 Weetbix champions, followed by the bike and run in the adjacent sports field and surrounding suburbs.
The Sanitarium Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon is a non-competitive event staged as a community engagement program to assist kids develop a great sense of self esteem, a balance of lifestyle fitness with some fun in participation in Australia’s largest Kids TRYathlon. The TRYathlon is conducted along the lines of an adult triathlon, IE: Swim, ride and run in one event and is suitable for kids aged 7 – 15 years of age.
