Asian inspired cuisine and festivities were on again in South port on Saturday November 7th, for the last event of the year before the weather heats up. China Town Markets will be back in full swing next year in March after the Chinese New Year celebrations in February.
The skies were overcast, thankfully the rain held off and over 9,000 excited people came through the markets and experienced a little bit of Chinese food, dance, art and culture. There were drum chanters and performances for all to enjoy. Griffith University architecture students were also invited to come down and express their creative art side with votes out to the public on the favourable piece.
Chinatown is an ideal go-to market to dose up on exciting authentic Asian experiences and cultural festivals. All 30 stalls are Asian inspired and stretch out across 2 roads, Young Street and Devon Port. Whether you desire a coconut Thai or hot hot chicken, Chinatown has you covered.
Each month there is something new to experience, so come visit us at the next China Town Markets, on the first Saturday of each month!
