Lest we forget….
This year the 3vent team was engaged to organise the annual ANZAC Parade and service at Robina Community Centre, on behalf of the City of Gold Coast.
As always it was a moving morning with all minds focusing on the remembrance of all lost, ex and active servicemen and women of the Australian and New Zealand Armed Corps. We were honoured to host the event for 40 war veterans and many more active servicemen and women, this year with record attendance which ensured the hall was packed as the marching parade filled the Community Centre with no seats to spare.
The Coastal Charisma Choir and Gold Coast Philharmonic Orchestra welcomed the veterans into the hall as the parade arrived. Moving and poignant recitals, readings and poems were delivered by Reverend Stewart Perry, Lieutenant Colonel Michael Scott and several students from local schools. Wreaths were laid on the memorial by veterans, relatives, councilors and many young school children. As the last post sounded and the sombre time of reflection passed, national flags were raised and the event came to an end. According to some of the veterans “It was the best service we have had here”.
Our Role
The 3vent team planned, organised and implemented this event, in conjunction with the City of Gold Coast’s Division 11, with military precision. Taking care to ensure the opinions and views of all parties and stakeholders were taken into account, we made sure the correct protocols and procedure of parade and service were followed. The result was a smooth and well organized event.
